Electrostatic breakdown occurs when IC and other such electronic components fail due to the influence of static electricity.
In recent years, miniaturization and increased integration of electronic components has advanced. These components are extremely sensitive to electrostatic breakdown.
The chart seen here is a guide for tolerable voltage, organized by device. In the LCD industry it is 100 V or less, whereas it is understood that GMR heads fail at an extremely low voltage of 5 V or more.
